Subaru, Prodrive and Mark Higgins to tackle Isle of Man TT record. Again

Subaru and Prodrive have teamed up to produce another WRX capable of beating its own lap record of the Isle of Man TT road course with Mark Higgins at the wheel.

SUBARU, PRODRIVE and Mark Higgins have teamed up again to build another WRX racing car to try and beat its existing car lap record of the Isle of Man TT road course. Based on the 2016 Subaru WRX STI, Higgins will be hoping to go a little bit faster to beat his existing record of 19 minutes and 26 seconds. A time he set driving an older 2014 model WRX STI.

Prodrive hasn’t revealed any details about the ability of its STI, but it’s clearly going for a clean look. There are bonnet vents, a huge, blacked-out rear wing and bulging wheel arches. It looks mean, but mean won’t cut it on the Isle of Man… Stay tuned as we’re expecting Prodrive to release performance details soon.

In the meantime, here’s the video of Higgins’ setting the car lap record in 2014:
