Official refreshed 2017 Subaru Forester images and details leaked

An official brochure detailing the refreshed 2017 Subaru Forester has been leaked onto the Internet ahead of a possible reveal in October.

BASED ON TRADITION, the next update to the Subaru Forester will be a facelift and interior tweaks. And this  has been borne out by a series of images of the exterior and interior of the 2017 Subaru Forester which have leaked onto the Internet. The images appear to be from an official Subaru Forester and match the snapshot Practical Motoring was sent last week that revealed the new-look front end of the Forester and Forester XT.

This fresh batch of images clearly detail key, but minor, exterior and interior changes to the 2017 Subaru Forester, which will be the last round before an all-new model. Subaru is keeping its lips zipped about the refreshed Forester, but Subaru Japan has announced it will be hosting an event in October titled: ‘I want Forester’ (Google translation) which will give punters the chance to explore the new-look Forester range.

The brochure images you see here are clearly from a catalogue likely to be distributed at that event.

So, what do the pictures tell us? The major exterior changes are limited to slightly tweaked LED head- and tail-lights, a slightly re-styled grille with the badge moved into the centre of the chrome strip, and a new bumper with colour-coded elements and changes to the treatment of the driving lights.

As you can see, the grille and headlight changes are more pronounced on the Forester XT, which replaces the chrome strip in the grille with a black one.

On the inside, the changes are similarly minor with a new steering wheel and changes to central instrument display with a new full colour display nestled in-between both the speedo and tachometer. The passenger-side of the dashboard has been slightly restyled too.

We’ll continue to keep our eyes peeled for more information and images about the refreshed 2017 Subaru Forester, and a big thanks to Pasquali for the tip.

So judging from your comments the all new Forester should be due in early 2017?

That’s the tricky part, Tony. It’s likely Subaru in Japan will show the car in October, but there’s no word on when it will come here. It’s likely to be 2016, though. Generally the model years are ahead of the release. Cheers Isaac

The front bumper on the non XT model is ugly. If i got it i would swap the front bumper out for the current one. Hopefully by the time this comes out the n/a engines will have direct injection. Fingers crossed!

While Subaru is remaining tight lipped, we might see something crop up at the Tokyo Motor Show… We’ll be in attendance and will let you know if we learn more.

Knee hurts with 2014 Forester on long trips due to poorly designed Door Window Panel Control.. Making the controls Horizontal instead of sloping would allow more side knee room and better comfort on a trip.
