The 2017 Subaru Forester has been leaked online via an automotive gallery site in Japan which shows some of the changes to both Forester and Forester XT.

SUBARU RUNS in five-year product cycles and next year marks the fourth year in the current generation Forester and around year four is usually when Subaru’s designers get out their scalpels and start tweaking the front and rear. A user on an online automotive forum in Japan has posted one pic showing the front-end of the 2017 Subaru Forester and while Japanese magazines tend to publish a lot of computer-generated images, we believe this one to be the real deal.

The pic shows the front-end of both the naturally-aspirated Forester and turbocharged Forester XT highlighting tweaks to the headlights, grille and spoilers. We’ve posted an image of the current Subaru Forester below for comparison.

Beyond this, information is thin on the ground where the 2017 Forester is concerned. But it’s expected Subaru will make some changes to the interior of the car and release further improvements for the naturally-aspirated engine helping it produce more power and torque while using less fuel. Some safety changes could see the new Forester adopt the blind-spot monitoring system recently released for WRX and the likely inclusion of EyeSight on diesel models.

Stay tuned, and thanks to Pasquali for the tip.
