A new Kia SUV concept has been revealed ahead of its debut at the Detroit Motor Show next week… Kia says there are no plans for the SUV to enter immediate production.

A NEW KIA SUV CONCEPT appears to be a toe in the water for a larger SUV that would be different to anything else in the current Kia SUV line-up. In a very short statement, Kia said there were no immediate plans for the SUV concept to enter production immediately, but added this teaser “decisions on which markets may receive a future production version will be made in due course”.

The profile of the SUV concept looks very different to the swoopy looking vehicles in Kia’s current SUV line-up, and appears to be in a similar style to the current crop of seven-seat 4WDs, like the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport… but that assumption could be way off.

Kia said, “Conceived at the automaker’s California design studio, the concept offers an abundance of advanced technology – including state-of-the-art health-and-wellness technology – and takes Kia’s design language in a bold new direction, suggesting styling of a possible future premium large SUV in the brand’s lineup”.

We’ll know more next week when the SUV concept is revealed in full.
