Holden Astra Sportwagon arrives in Australia from $25,740+ORC

The Holden Astra Sportwagon has arrived in Australia and will go on-sale in October from $25,740+ORC.

THE THIRTEENTH VEHICLE in Holden’s 24 new model commitment by 2020, the Astra Sportwagon has arrived Down Under and will go on-sale in October from $25,740+ORC. Holden said it offers a “sleek and stunning blend of car-like dynamics and drivability with SUV-like space”.

Holden Astra Sportwagon

The German designed and engineered (read: Opel) Astra Sportwagon is built at Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port manufacturing facility in the UK, and runs the same suspension tune as the hatch which Holden had input into.

“Astra Sportwagon gives our customers a real alternative to small SUVs. It’s got the space and practicality you’d expect of an SUV but with the style and performance of the award-winning Astra Hatch,” said Holden’s Executive Director – Sales, Michael Filazzola.

“Astra Sportwagon is also packed to the brim with technology, like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic park and a kick-gesture power tailgate which is great when your hands are full with the week’s grocery shop!”

Drop the rear seats and the Astra Sportwagon offers 1630 litres of space. It’s powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine (110kW and 240Nm of torque) which is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is a claimed combined 5.9L/100km.

In terms of safety, Astra Sportwagon offers Auto Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Forward Collision Alert in addition to a Rear View Camera – all available as standard across the range. It carries the hatch’s five-star ANCAP safety rating.
