THE 2018 LDV T60 UTE will go on-sale here in October with prices starting from $28,990 driveaway for ABN holders. In its announcement about the T60, LDV claimed it would use the ute segment to emulate its 40% year-on-year growth since entering the van market.

The LDV T60 arrives Down Under in double-cab trim only with four-wheel drive standard across the range and either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

“The LDV T60 will transform the position of LDV in the Australian market, not just in terms of sales volume but also geographically,” explains Dinesh Chinnappa, General Manager of LDV Automotive.

“As a van brand, our business was largely limited to metropolitan areas, where the vast majority of vans are sold and used, and while we have secured five per cent of the van sector since our launch in 2015, this sector is comparatively small. With the LDV T60 we are moving into the fastest growing sector in the market and one that covers the whole country, as well as a sector that now routinely provides the number one bestselling vehicle in Australia. If we are able to match that market share with in the Ute sector, LDV’s van sales will be dwarfed by the T60 and LDV will be on the road right across Australia.”

The LDV T60 offers a five-year, 130,000km warranty, and a loan car programme alongside the 24/7 roadside assistance.

  1. Reliability will be the key. Commercial vehicles are no use to anyone while they are in the workshop. The loan car sounds interesting. Do we know what sort of vehicle will be offered?
