ARB 4×4 Accessories has revealed its second Offroad Icon, the Nissan GQ Patrol which is the second of four the company plans to buy, restore and then take to the Simpson Desert.

THIS YEAR (2015) sees ARB 4×4 Accessories celebrating its 40th anniversary and, to celebrate, the company put a call out to its ‘fans and customers’ to name four icons of the off-roading world. The final four vehicles, two of which have now been revealed, will be sourced, bought, restored and then taken into the Simpson Desert. Here’s how ARB describes it:

“Once all four vehicles are selected, we’ll purchase a shining example of each and restore them to their former glory. From there, we’ll show them off at some of the 4WD shows and events around the country before pitting them up against one of Australia’s most iconic 4WD destinations, the Simpson Desert, in a fitting finale to the project,” ARB writes on its icons microsite, which you can access HERE.

Can these old jiggers keep pace with their modern day counterparts? Will they last the distance? Which will be crowned king of the desert? Keep one eye on our social media channels, as well as this Off Road Icons microsite to find out. The entire project, from the selection of the 4WDs, to the last leg of the desert crossing will all be documented here. You won’t want to miss a minute of the action.”

What would be your top four offroad icons?
