2016 Subaru WRX updated with new safety technology
Subaru has announced details for the 2016 Subaru WRX and WRX STI with some models receiving slight price cuts, while the Premium models get new safety gear.
THE 2016 SUBARU WRX and WRX STI have received an enhanced safety suite while some variants have had a slight price cut and others a slight increase. The biggest news is with the WRX Premium and WRX STI Premium which will both receive Subaru’s “Vision Assist” technologies which includes:
- Blind Spot Monitoring
- Lane Change Assist
- Auto dimming rear view mirror
- High Beam Assist
- Side View Monitor
- Built into the passenger wing mirrors, so hard-to-see parts of the vehicle can be checked
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Detects passing vehicles when reversing from parking spaces
- Power folding wing mirrors
Entry level WRX gets same new 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s been progressively rolled out in other refreshed and new-generation Subarus, while WRX Premium and WRX STI Premium add a fully integrated 7-inch system, introducing a wide array of new functions, including pinch/zoom, voice recognition and Pandora compatibility.
