At the reveal today, Han-Woo Park, President and CEO, Kia Motors Corporation, said: “The Seltos is an important car for Kia as it will play a central role in the expansion of our global footprint, and especially in a priority market like India. We’ve adapted our strengths in design, quality and technology to fulfil the needs of customers in the Indian market.

“Seltos is aimed at youthful, tech-savvy buyers and is packed full of our most cutting-edge technology and safety equipment. The world premiere is a significant milestone for Kia as it shows our commitment to the Indian market – and this is just the beginning. We have big plans for Kia in this wonderful country.”

According to Kia Australia, like other Kia models, the new Seltos has “been optimised to provide the experience Australian drivers have come to expect. Hundreds of hours of testing and validation in both Korea and on Australian roads guarantees the Seltos will stand up to anything Australian conditions can throw at it”.

The Seltos will be offered with a 1.6-litre T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine making 130kW, a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine producing 110kW and a 1.6-litre diesel engine producing 100kW. Locally, the Seltos will have a 2.0L four-cyinder petrol engine (110kW) mated to a CVT and driving through the front wheels as well as a 1.6-litre Turbo GDi coupled to a 7-speed DCT and AWD.

More details and pricing will be revealed closer to the local launch.
