The all-new 2019 Ford Focus will go on-sale in Australia in December with prices starting at $25,990+ORC for the four-model line-up.

The all-new 2019 Ford Focus range will arrive in Australia in December boasting a new look, improved active safety features as standard and a new eight-speed automatic transmission. There will be three models in the new Focus range (the ST-Line is available as both hatch and wagon), the entry-level Trend, ST-Line Hatch, ST-Line Wagon and Titanium Hatch. Pricing will start from $25,990+ORC and run to $34,490+ORC.

In describing the all-new Focus, Ford Australia boss, Kay Hart said, “The Focus has been one of the world’s best-selling vehicles, and it’s a significant part of Ford’s line-up, having been on sale for almost two decades in Australia.

“We’ve seen Focus set benchmarks in technology, driveability and performance, and this all-new generation is the best combination of Focus character and the latest technology that Australian customers are asking for.” 


The Focus range will feature autonomous emergency braking as standard across the range but where Ford’s system stands apart from other systems in this price range is its ability to detect pedestrians and cyclists. It also works at night. The top-spec Titanium variant adds active cruise control with stop and go functionality as well as speed sign recognition and lane keeping. It also offers Evasive Steering assist which can either make the steering lighter or heavier depending on the driver’s input to avoid a potential collision. These extra active safety features are offered to other variants as part of the Driver Assistance Pack which costs $1250.

The new Focus will also feature Ford’s latest-generation Syn3 infotainment system (8.0-inch screen) which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Sat-nav is standard as is a reversing camera with a 180-degree wide field of view.

There’s only one engine available across the range, a 1.5-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine making 134kW at 6000rpm and 240Nm of torque from 1600rpm. This is mated exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
