2018 Volvo XC40 on-sale from $47,990+ORC

Local pricing has been announced for the all-new 2018 Volvo XC40 which will go on-sale here in April.

THE ALL-NEW VOLVO XC40 will go on-sale in Australia in April with local pricing announced yesterday. The new compact SUV will list from $47,990+ORC for the entry-level Momentum variant and from $54,990+ORC for the R-Design variant. Both will be available with petrol and diesel engines.

The entry-level Momentum variants will be well-kitted out with 18in alloys, wireless phone charging and Apple and Android connectivity as well as a 12.3in driver information display, and a raft of safety features, including automatic high beam, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert and front and rear parking sensors.

The R-Design variants will offer the same but add bits like 20-inch alloys, sports chassis, R-Design badges and leather interior, as well as automatic tailgate with gesture open and adaptive headlights.

Volvo has also said it will also sell a limited number of Momentum Launch Edition variants (hasn’t said how limited) for $52,990+ORC for the T5 petrol variant and $55,990+ORC for the D4 diesel variant. Volvo claims the options on the limited-run vehicles are worth an extra $10,120 if you were ticking the options boxes, and they include:

  • Sunroof
  • LED headlights with Active Bending Lights
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Pilot Assist
  • Harmon Kardon Premium Sound
  • Tinted Windows
  • Heated front seats
  • Power foldable headrest & backrest
  • 19” 5 spoke Black Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels + 360 degree camera
  • Mechanical cushion extension
  • Park Assist Pilot
  • Keyless Entry and Electric tailgate
  • Electric front passenger seat
  • High interior illumination
  • Alarm
  • Leather Upholstery

There will also be an R-Design Launch Edition which cops more than $6k in options for a price rise of around $2k. This includes:

  • Sunroof
  • Tinted Windows
  • Alarm
  • Heated front Seats
  • Power foldable headrest & backrest
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Pilot Assist + Alarm
  • Park Asist Pilot
  • 360 degree camera
  • Harmon Kardon Premium Sound
