Bentley released a video overnight showing a pre-production version of its 2016 Bentley Bentayga reaching 301km/h on video.

BENTLEY HAS ALREADY released a handful of teasers showing the Bentayga off-roading and with its reveal set down for Frankfurt next week, this is possibly the final stunt we’ll see until the official launch. And it’s one hell of a stunt.

The video has been released, says Bentley, to show off the performance of the Bentayga’s 6.0-litre W12 twin turbo which thumps out 447kW and 900Nm of torque. The high-speed run was filmed at an ‘unknown’ location with no ‘official’ onlookers and isn’t being suggested as a world record, but Bentley does suggest the Bentayga will be “the fastest, most powerful SUV in the world”.

That suggests an official record run is in the works.
