Toyota makes active safety standard across Kluger range
Toyota has announced its making its active safety suite standard across the Kluger range… prices jump by $950-$1400 depending on the variant.
TOYOTA HAS MADE active safety kit previously the domain of more expensive models standard across the Kluger range. These include a pre-collision safety system, autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure alert, active cruise control and automatic high beam.
But prices have gone up as a result. The GX grade rises $950, GXL adds rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert and rises $1400.
Toyota’s pre-collision safety system uses a camera and radar to monitor the road ahead, and “has been updated to enable detection of pedestrians as well as other vehicles”. If the system detects a potential collision risk it chimes, then primes the brake and if the driver still does nothing, will automatically apply the brakes.
This safety update arrives less than a year after Toyota introduced the refreshed Kluger onto the market here. Read our review of the Toyota Kluger here.
