Subaru Australia has launched a mobile test drive service that it claims will “remove barriers for customers”.

METROPOLITAN SYDNEY SUBARU dealerships will now offer mobile test drive solutions to potential customers. “This flexibility allows potential customers to trial a Subaru Impreza or XV from work, home, or wherever they may be,” Subaru said in a statement.

Subaru Australia Managing Director, Colin Christie, said: “The ‘Test Drive at Yours’ program is a natural extension of our Subaru ‘do’ pop-up stores in shopping centre locations.

“It is yet another way Subaru has enabled our commitment to bringing the brand and its vehicles to our customers and remove obstacles in the path to purchase.

“We are aware that our customers lead busy lives and value convenience, so our Subaru ‘do’ philosophy aims to enable this whenever possible.”

Practical Motoring spoke with Subaru Australia National Corporate Affairs Manager, David Rowley who said, “Our research indicates the vast majority of customers still prefer to check out every aspect of a vehicle – from test drive to specifications, finance and insurance – in a dealer environment.

“But we also believe in exploring alternatives for people who, for a variety of reasons, may not be able to access a dealership directly.

“This is very much in line with our Subaru “do” philosophy of using innovation to find solutions for customers.”

Question: Do you think all car companies should provide a mobile test drive service?
