The refreshed 2020 Hyundai Tucson has arrived in Australia with a new Active variant while the range has been trimmed to four models.

The refreshed 2020 Hyundai Tucson line-up has been detailed with an Active variant replacing the previous entry Go variant and active safety tweaks across the range. With active safety becoming a huge focus for car makers, Hyundai has added a camera-based autonomous emergency braking system on automatic-equipped entry-level Active variants – it’s active from 8km/h and able to completely brake the vehicle at speeds up to 65km/h but is operational up to 180km/h.

There’s a difference between the system on Active and on top-spec variants and that is that it can’t detect pedestrians or cyclists. Tucson Elite and Highlander variants get a camera and radar-based City/Urban/ Interurban FCA system with pedestrian detection.
