Ford-licenced caravans to launch in the US
Ford to offer Ford-licenced range of caravans and slide-on campers in the US, fifth-wheel trailers and pop-up campers are also expected… won’t come to Australia.
FORD TRUCK HAS announced the launch of a range of caravans and slide-on campers for the US market in early 2016. It’s also planning pop-up campers and fifth-wheel trailers.
“Exploring America is in our customers’ DNA and recreational vehicles are part of Ford’s history, so these new camping options are great for our adventurous customers,” said Mark Bentley, Ford Licensing manager. “Ford is an industry leader in towing technology, so it was only natural for Ford to license its name and designs in this industry.”
The Ford-branded caravans and camper backs will be licensed and built by RV brand, Livin Lite. Ford slide-on truck campers will be offered for 6- and 8-foot truck beds, while caravans will be offered in 22- and 24-foot lengths.
Ford Truck designers had a hand in the look of the RVs and you can see the F-Series-inspired front window and F-Series-style wheels. Ford hasn’t said much about the interior, other than it will take “styling cues from the F-Series Lariat, including unique leathers and stitched Ford Blue Ovals in seat cushions, ensure a stylish and tough impression”.
