After teasing a gloomy looking profile of the new Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai has gone backwards and teased renderings of its new medium SUV.

FOLLOWING IN THE WHEEL TRACKS of the Hyundai Kona, released last year, the new Santa Fe has adopted that vehicle’s split headlight set-up with Hyundai saying it “reflects Hyundai’s new SUV design identity”. The split headlights lead into the brand’s new-generation cascading grille which Hyundai said combine to create a “a unique, futuristic look”.

No technical details were shared but it’s expected the new Santa Fe will be slightly bigger than the outgoing model and be offered with every bit of kit in the Hyundai arsenal in an attempt to attract buyers and help the thing stand out in a crowded SUV segment.

  1. Great looking car. Lets hope for a grunty engine. We know Hyundai has the 3.3L V6. Hope they offer it as an option. Let’s hope this wagon is RWD not FWD with a tack on drive to the back axles.

V8s don’t need counterbalance shafts but most V6s do. I hope that Hyundai and Kia upgrade their V6 to a twin turbo V8 of similar capacity. V8s tend to be smoother and they sound nicer.

And Hyundai. Don’t forget a grunty turbo diesel. Something around 3L. Something to compete with the BMW 3L turbo diesel SUV. Am I thinking of the X6?
