The 2020 Holden Trax has been previewed via the unveiling of the 2020 Chevrolet Trailblazer at the Shanghai Motor Show.

Chevrolet revealed the 2020 Trailblazer and the Tracker at the Shanghai Motor Show overnight. While Holden hasn’t said anything yet, it’s expected the Chevrolet Trailblazer will replace the current Trax (on-sale since 2013) – the name is likely to stay the same – the new Trax will arrive Down Under either towards the end of this year or early next year.

Speaking earlier this year about Holden’s push towards SUVs, Holden boss, David Buttner said, “SUVs have replaced passenger vehicles as the dominant segment in Australia and New Zealand’s new vehicle markets, and Holden is very well positioned to grow our share of sales in this segment,” Buttner said.

“We have sourced a highly competitive range of SUVs from the global operations of GM – a world-leader in SUVs. We have also gone the extra mile, with our team at the Lang Lang Proving Ground engineering the SUV range specifically for local driving conditions. Holden’s SUVs have American DNA, fused with Aussie ingenuity.”

Shown off alongside the Trailblazer was the Chevrolet Tracker which is a sub-compact SUV based on GM’s GEM platform which is intended for emerging markets only and so this model is unlikely to make it to Australia.
