The all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe has been teased via a gloomy profile photograph ahead of its official reveal at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

THE ALL-NEW 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will launch in Australia later this year, according to Hyundai Australia which teased a gloomy profile photograph of the new medium SUV today. It will be revealed in full at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

In the very short statement, Hyundai said, “The new generation Santa Fe offers a comprehensive package of Hyundai’s latest active safety features under the Smart Sense technology umbrella. The innovative and industry-first Rear Occupant Alert monitors the rear seats to detect passengers and alerts the driver when leaving the car”.

The above might seem like a gimmick but it’s a great inclusion. Every year in Australia, more than 5000 people are left locked inside cars, with the majority being toddlers and babies. Indeed, between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017, just in Victoria, Ambulance services responded to more than 1500 call outs for children and babies locked inside cars.

In addition, Hyundai said it’s added a braking function to its rear cross traffic alert, meaning that if you’re reversing out and the vehicle detects and object in the vehicle’s path or approaching it, it will sound an warning chime and can then apply the brakes automatically if the driver fails to respond.

Stay tuned for more information about the new Hyundai Santa Fe.
