The 2018 Hyundai Kona is set to be officially and fully revealed later this year, but that hasn’t stopped Hyundai from dribbling out teaser snaps and details…

THE 2018 HYUNDAI KONA will become the brand’s smallest but possibly most advanced SUV when it launches later this year. The Korean car maker has released a teaser video overnight and some more snippets of information.

For instance, the Kona will become the first Hyundai to get a head-up display which, according to Hyundai offers a class-leading luminance of 10,000 candela per square metres meaning it should be easy to see even in direct sunlight.

From the teaser video, it’s obvious the Kona takes its design inspiration, at least to my eyes, from the new i30 and also the Veloster… freeze the video when it shows the front three-quarter look and tell me there aren’t hints of Veloster towards the rear end.

The Kona will come to Australia, but will have to wait for the next dribble of information to find out whether it’ll scare the new Subaru XV or Skoda Karoq. It’ll be revealed in full in June.
