Hyundai India has released design sketches of the 2015 Hyundai i20 Active compact SUV.

EXPECTED TO launch in India next month (March), Hyundai India has released two teaser design sketches of the 2015 i20 Active compact SUV. While details are thin, it’s expected that global sales will begin later this year, although with Australia unable to source the new i20 from India it remains to be seen whether we’ll get this model anytime soon.

Based on the new i20 hatch, the i20 Active gets, if the sketches are to be believed, redesigned bumpers, side guards and round fog lights mounted into the bumper. No doubt suspension and steering has been reworked to suit the higher ride height.

It’s expected the model will be powered by either a 1.2-litre petrol or a 1.4-litre diesel engine mated to a five-speed or six-speed manual transmission, respectively.
