Volkswagen T-Roc teased again [video]
The Volkswagen T-Roc compact SUV has been teased in a new video with VW claiming it “it is set to make waves in the compact SUV class”.
THE VOLKSWAGEN T-ROC will be revealed in full on August 23 but that isn’t stopping Volkswagen from drip-feeding imagery and videos of its new compact SUV. This is our best look at the T-Roc which shows off the thing’s gaping grille, headlights, tail-lights and parts of the interior… the grille is a big departure from the more conservative looking product that VW has been trundling out and suggests it will be targeting the sort of buyers that think the C-HR looks cool.
That said, on the inside, things settle down with the interior looking every inch like a Volkswagen, meaning functional and well crafted. The yellow accents suggest VW has let its hair down. Slightly.
Volkswagen isn’t saying anything else about the T-Roc other than: “In urban traffic or on long trips, the new T-Roc combines the effortless superiority of an SUV with the agility of a sporty, compact model. Both of these attributes are also reflected in the design, which adopts off-road features and infuses these with dynamism and urban appeal. At the same time, the T-Roc remains clearly recognisable as a Volkswagen. A style-defining feature in the front is the wide radiator grille with integrated dual headlights. Separate from the headlights, the housings for turn indicators and daytime running/cornering lights are positioned in the bumper, together with the light signature which provides the T-Roc with a distinctive appearance at night, too”.
The T-Roc rides on the VW Group’s MQB platform and will be available with a range of petrol and diesel engines. Stay tuned for more information after the global reveal later this month.
