Volkswagen reveals 2015 VW Jetta and Touareg pricing
Volkswagen has announced the arrival of updated 2015 VW Jetta and Touareg models in Australia with a new 155kW performance-oriented Jetta now topping the range.
ANNOUNCING THE REVISED range, VW also said that, until the end of March, it would run a driveway campaign for the refreshed Jetta range (prices are below). The refreshed Jetta, the brand says, offers a raft of technical enhancements, additional comfort and convenience features and a newly created performance-oriented flagship model.
According to VW, the revised Jetta range now benefits from the standard fitment of Volkswagen’s own Extended Electronic Differential Lock (XDL) function, which helps to reduce understeer by braking the inside wheel when cornering hard; as well as the potentially life-saving Driver Fatigue Detection System.
All models in the revised Jetta range also receive an anti-theft alarm system, alloy wheels, cruise control as standard, as well as a leather multi-function steering wheel combined with Multi-Function Display (MFD Plus).
The new Jetta line-up offers a range of engine and transmission pairings throughout the model grades. The 118TSI engine is available with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG transmission in Trendline Specification, and with the 7-speed DSG standard on Comfortline and Highline specification. The 103TDI diesel engine is paired with a 6-speed DSG and comes in Highline specification, while the newly added 155TSI Highline Sport model comes with a 6-speed DSG as standard.
In addition to the Highline specification, the new Jetta borrows the engine from the Mark VI Golf GTI (previous generation) and rides on dynamic sports suspension, the 155TSI also gets18-inch ‘Charleston’ alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime driving lights, LED tail lights, Gearshift paddles mounted behind the leather Multi-function steering wheel and dark tinted rear side and rear window glass.

The Volkswagen Touareg range has also come in for revision locally. The simplified range now consists of just three models: the150TDI, V6 TDI and V8 TDI R-Line, all with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Standard features across the range now include: Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, 4MOTION permanent all-wheel drive and RNS850 satellite navigation system.
The 2015 VW Touareg boasts redesigned front and rear bumpers, fog lights, ventilation grilles, and alloy wheel designs. Interior changes include an updated design for system buttons and new white light interior illumination lighting.
Extensive assistance and safety systems continue to be a highlight of the range, with Multi-collision brake now standard. Pioneered in the seventh-generation Golf, Multi-collision brake is designed to trigger automatic controlled braking once an initial collision has been detected, to reduce the severity or even potentially avoid subsequent accidents. Other standard assistance and safety features include Driver Fatigue Detection, nine airbags, and Coasting Function to save fuel when the driver’s foot is taken off the accelerator pedal.
