The Toyota V6 Aurion range has been given much-needed features including sat nav and advanced safety features to keep it competitive.

WITH THE NEW car market moving ahead at a rapid rate, Toyota has announced key changes for its updated V6 Aurion range only days after revealing similar changes for its Camry range.

The key changes benefit the entry-level Aurion AT-X and mid-spec Sportivo models. The Sportivo will get sat-nav as standard as well as Toyota Link connectivity. It will also receive a rear-window power sunshade, while these will be cost optional on the AT-X. Aurion Sportivo will also get sports leather-accented seats, blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, auto-levelling LED headlamps, LED foglamps and a power-operated driver’s seat with two memory positions.

Cosmetic enhancements for Sportivo include newly designed black 18-inch alloy wheels and an exclusive new exterior paint colour, Cherry (pictured). All of this will see the price of the Sportivo rise by $3000.

Standard AT-X features have also been improved, and at no extra cost. It now gets 10-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels and 215/55R17 tyres, including the spare wheel, replacing the 16-inch alloys and steel spare previously offered. AT-X also gets a four-spoke steering wheel and gear-shift lever while all Aurion models are now fitted with rear-seat ISOFIX attachment points. The price for AT-X remains at $36,490+ORC while the cost option package which offers sat-nav is priced at $1750.

Toyota Australia’s executive director sales and marketing Tony Cramb said the mid-year updates will be welcomed by family-car buyers seeking even better value.

“The additional equipment for AT-X and Sportivo will appeal to value-conscious buyers in this segment of the market,” Cramb said.

At the top of the range, Aurion Presara buyers will now be able to select the Sportivo’s 18-inch wheel-and-tyre package, including suspension and steering revisions, for an extra $1000. The cost optional rims on Presara have bright machined spokes.

  1. The Aurion engine is a pearler, too bad it is saddled to woeful styling. One of the ugliest Camry’s to date.
