Updated Hyundai i30 broadens engine and safety options
The updated Hyundai i30 range now sees Elite and Premium variants access the brand’s 2L engine while SmartSense active safety features are now optional on entry-level Go and Active variants.
HYUNDAI HAS updated its 2018 i30 range with the Elite and Premium variants now available with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a six-speed automate. SR Premium and Premium variants now come with a seven-speaker Infinity sound system, while the Active variant gets a leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.
Of most interest is the roll-out of the Hyundai SmartSense suite across the range, although in the entry-level Go and Active variants it’s a $1750 cost option. It includes:
- Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Blind Spot Detection (BSD) with Lane Change Assist (LCA)
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)
- Driver Attention Alert (DAA)
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
- Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with Stop & Go.
- Electronic Parking Brake (EPB)
- 2” TFT colour supervision cluster
- Rear cooling/heating vents
- Power folding exterior mirrors with LED side repeaters
- Chrome insert front grille
