Startech tunes Land Rover Discovery Sport for Geneva Motor Show
Brabus off-shoot, Startech, has revealed its body kit and engine upgrade for the Land Rover Discovery Sport 2.2-litre turbo-diesel.
STARTECH IS WELL-known for its work on Range Rover product, and overnight it released a tweaked version of the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Startech’s work comprises of an engine performance tweak and styling changes to give it improved on-road presence.
On the inside, there’s a new scuff plate showing a back-lit Startech logo, new floor mats and aluminium pedals. Wood and carbon-fibre trim options are also available.
That said, with the new front and rear bumper and the fact the Startech Discovery Sport is 30mm lower than standard will severely compromise its off-road performance.
Key changes include a new front bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights and a new rear bumper with integrated exhaust pipes. The wheels are 22-inch five-spoke Monostar R alloys for the front and back and they can be had in either black or polished. The tyres are 265/35 R 22.
Startech has fitted its own springs but left the factory-fit dampers. And the tuning kit can be had across front-wheel and all-wheel drive variants. In addition to the suspension tweak, Startech offers a plug-and-play chip for the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel which bumps up output from 140kW and 420Nm to 155kW and 460Nm. Startech says its working on a performance upgrade for the Ingenium engine.
Startech will release pricing for its kit at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
