Renault Megane R.S. 275 Trophy launched in Oz

Renault Australia has announced details and on-sale date for the limited-edition (only 100) Megane R.S. 275 Trophy.

RENAULT AUSTRALIA today announced the local arrival of the limited-edition (only 100 examples) Megane R.S 275 Trophy which goes on-sale from September 30 from $52,990 (+ORC). The Megane R.S. Trophy is only available in Pearl White or Liquid Yellow – it gets a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.

The driver-focussed Megane R.S 275 Trophy gets, as standard, the Megane Cup chassis with limited-slip differential, and the slightly-more-powerful (by an extra 10hp) 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine which now produces 275hp (hence the name) and 360Nm of torque from 3000-5000rpm. This is matched to a six-speed manual and fuel consumption is a combined 7.5L/100km.

Renault Sport has teamed up with noted exhaust maker Akrapovič and the Megane R.S 275 Trophy features a standard-fit titanium exhaust system tuned to give the thing a “more raucous bark that is sure to appeal to those who appreciate sporty engine notes”. Isn’t that all of us?

Inside, the Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy gets leather and Alcantara Recaro bucket seats with visible red stitching, the head rests feature Renault Sport badging.

Renault Megane R.S. 275 Trophy launched in Australia

Commenting on the launch of the Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy, Justin Hocevar, Managing Director Renault Australia, said: “Created to commemorate our recent front-wheel-drive lap record of the notorious Nürburgring, the Mégane R.S. 275 Trophy brings all the expertise of Renault Sport to life in an exciting and engaging package.

“As soon as this vehicle was launched globally we saw customers wanting to place a deposit to secure one in Australia.  We’ve been able to secure an incredibly attractive price for such a special vehicle and I’m confident these 100 vehicles will be very popular with Renault Sport fans across Australia.”
