Two photos of the Fiat 500X have hit the web ahead of the baby-SUV’s official reveal at the Paris Motor Show today.

THE TWO IMAGES give us our best look at the Fat 500X yet and were published on Carscoops via ICS Photography. Despite our initial thoughts that there would be only a squint-to-see-it resemblance between the 500X and the 500 city car, we were wrong. The design connection is strong indeed via the big round headlights and snub-nosed bonnet and covered grille. Like the Subaru XV, the Fiat 500X features plastic body armour to give it a rugged, rough roader look.

The Fiat 500X shares its platform with the recently launched Jeep Renegade and while details are thin on the ground, you can expect it to share engines and transmissions if not all of the Jeep’s off-road technology.
