The refreshed Subaru Forester has been revealed in action at a customer drive day in Japan ahead of its official reveal at the Tokyo Motor Show this month.

SUBARU JAPAN RECENTLY advertisedĀ a customer event for early October, stating in the adĀ that attendees would get the chance to test drive one if its new SUVs. Although it didn’t name the vehicle, it was clear, due to timings and numerous leaked documents that Practical Motoring had received that it would be the refreshed Subaru Forester on display. And it was.

Subaru subsequently announced key Japanese details for the refreshed Forester which will get its global reveal at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month. Subaru Australia still hasn’t announced details of when we’ll see the refreshed Forester, but it’s likely to be early next year, and it’s unlikely the vehicle we get will get the latest-generation EyeSight (version 3) but we’re still investigating.

As you can see from the video taken at the customer drive day, Subaru Japan was keen to show customers the rough-road ability of the refreshed Forester. And while the obstacles don’t look particularly gnarly, it looks like the updated Forester will keep the model’s all-road ability alive and kicking.
