To maintain the hype, the Jaguar F-Type British Design Edition has been revealed and will go on-sale in Australia later this year with prices starting at $166,650 (+ORC).

THE JAGUAR F-TYPE BRITISH DESIGN EDITION has been revealed overseas and will go on-sale in Australia towards the middle of this year. A cosmetic tweaking of the F-Type, pricing for the special edition will kick off at $166,650 (+ORC). The British Design Edition is based on the F-Type S Coupe and Convertible and is offered in a colour palette inspired by the Union Jack: Caldera Red, Glacier White and – new to the F-TYPE range – Ultra Blue. Ultimate Black is also available.

Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar said, “The F-TYPE is a sports car that excites the senses, with a visual drama that is both individual and very British. Creating the British Design Edition gave us the opportunity to subtly enhance the way the F-TYPE looks – inside and out.”

So what do you get? There’s some badging scattered around the car, carbon-fibre trim, Jet leather interior with contrast stitching. Behind the 20-inch Cyclone wheels with unique Satin Grey finish is an “uprated braking system” via Jaguar Super Performance Brake system featuring red calipers (black is available as an option). Jaguar’s InControl Touch and InControl Touch Plus infotainment systems are offered with upgraded audio equipment developed together with Meridian – The InControl Touch infotainment system features a 380W Meridian system with 10 speakers, while the InControl Touch Plus system delivers 770W through 12 speakers.

Power comes exclusively from the 280kW/ 460Nm supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine, matched to the six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, or eight-speed Quickshift transmission with rear- or all-wheel drive. Thanks to repackaging of key components at the rear of the vehicle, all 2017 model year F-Type convertibles offer an additional 8-litres of luggage space.
