Isuzu UTE Australia has finished 2014 with its best sales in its six-year history, with December seeing the brand’s one-tonne D-Max outsell key rivals.

ISUZU UTE AUSTRALIA cracked open the champagne to celebrate 2014 as its best-ever year (it entered the market in late 2008) with a record 16,674 vehicle’s sold in 2014, a staggering 63.3% increase on 2013 sales (6465). More than that, December 2014 saw Isuzu’s D-Max (1775) outsell key rivals, Holden Colorado (1295), Mazda BT-50 (1126) and Nissan Navara (1117). December also saw 564 MU-Xs find driveways to call home.

According to Isuzu, its “accelerated growth in 2014 was in part helped by the introduction of the MU-X, as well as stronger fleet sales performance which was buoyed by the introduction of an ANCAP 5-Star safety rating and improved 3.5 tonne towing capacity on all of its 4×4 D-MAX models.

“The significant sales improvement can also be attributed to the continual expansion of Isuzu UTE’s dealership network – which now numbers more than 100 dealers nationally (up from 39 in 2008). Recent additions to IUA’s dealership footprint include a combination of high-profile metropolitan and regional locations along with several rural outlets designed to service and support IUA’s growing mining fleet customers.

Isuzu UTE Australia Managing Director and CEO, Yasuhiro Takeuchi said: “I am extremely happy with the rapid growth our franchise has achieved and would like to thank our dealers and their staff for their continued commitment to ensuring our customers receive the very best service and the brand enjoys the success it deserves.

“We have some very exciting plans afoot to ensure our growth is not only sustainable, but increased in 2015 and beyond.”
