DS to reveal two concepts at Paris Motor Show
DS will show two concept cars at next month’s Paris Motor Show, the DIVINE DS and the DS 3 INES DE LA FRESSANGE PARIS CONCEPT.
THE DS BRAND will officially make its debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show after being created on 1 June. What’s DS? Think of it as the luxury arm of Citroen, it’s the same setup/relationship as Lexus and Toyota or Infiniti and Nissan…
The Paris Motor Show next month will see DS reveal two concept cars, the DIVINE DS and the, and take a very deep breath, DS 3 INES DE LA FRESSANGE PARIS CONCEPT. DS says these two concepts reveal the design direction of the brand; DS will also show off its latest production models the DS 3 and DS 3 Cabrio.
But it’s the two concept models that DS really wants people to stop and gawk at. The press guff always waxes lyrical about concept cars but the DS release is particularly purple in its prose, saying “The DIVINE DS concept represents a manifesto of style that embodies the essence of the brand and its future”. It gets better.
“For this concept car, the design teams were given the freedom to fully express their creativity, which has resulted in a new philosophy for personalisation named ‘hyper-typage’. This approach offers three interchangeable interior trims, each with a unique and compelling character,” a statement read. Sadly, the statement didn’t actually reveal any details of the concept.
The DS 3 INES DE LA FRESSANGE PARIS CONCEPT is a joint effort between the DS Styling Centre and the Ines de La Fressange Paris fashion house to produce two variants of the DS 3, one a cabrio and the other a compact car.
The DS 3 is shown in a satin-finish Ink Blue colour, forming a perfect match for the glossy Onyx Black roof. The DS 3 Cabrio, on the other hand, is finished in glossy Perla Nera Black with an Infinite Blue soft top. Both versions are fitted with 17-inch ‘Aphrodite’ diamond-cut alloy wheels that “add a dynamic touch” to the styling.
