HSV has launched its most-powerful car ever, the GTSR W1 which will be limited to just 300 units with a price tag of $170k… and it’s already sold out.

HSV IS SENDING OFF the Commodore with a ka-boom. It has revealed its GTSR W1 which boasts 474kW (at 6500rpm) and 815Nm of torque (at 3900rpm) from its supercharged 6.2-litre V8 Corvette ZR1 engine. The limited-edition variant will be limited to just 300 units for Australian and New Zealand customers… only, if you want one, it’s too late. They’ve all been sold already.

Well, 295 of them have been sold with the rest to be kept back to raffle off later.

As you would imagine, everything, including the kitchen sink has been thrown at the GTR W1. It runs a six-speed manual and ‘race car spec’ suspension, which is SupaShock adjustable dampers instead of the Magnetic Ride Control units used on other HSV models. It also gets AP Racing brakes, said to be the biggest fitted to any Australian production car.

Styling wise, there are pumped guards giving the thing a more aggressive and hunkered down look, capped off by big air intakes and an integrated splitter. Inside, there’s grippy Alcantara trim for the seats and ‘W1’ is embroidered into the headrests.

Thanks to its beefy engine, the GTSR W1 will get to 100km/h in just 4.2 seconds and is good for a 12.1-second quarter-mile, says HSV.
