BMW has published a video overnight of the BMW M4 GTS lapping the Nurburgring in an eye-watering 7:27.88 putting it into supercar territory.

THE LAUNCH OF THE Alfa Giulia coincided with an announcement that it had lapped the Nurburgring in a very fast 7:39. And now BMW has responded with its tuned BMW M4 GTS lapping the ‘Ring 11 seconds faster, and stopping the clock at 7:27.88.

That puts the M4 GTS within cooee of supercars like the Porsche Carrera RS, Ferrari 458 Italia and only a few tenths off the McLaren MP4-12C. The most impressive part of the time, though, is that it’s a whopping 24 seconds faster than the garden-variety M4 and it’s no slouch. Indeed, the new BMW M4 GTS is now the fastest production BMW around the Nurburgring.

Driving the M4 GTS is M GmbH engineer and racing driver Joerg Weidinger, who narrates the video to explain how he tackled each and every corner. This is one of the best ‘Ring videos ever.
