2020 Toyota Corolla gets Apple CarPlay, Android Auto

Improved technology and equipment for the 2020 Toyota Corolla is met by a bump in price.

Toyota Australia has revealed pricing and specifications for the 2020 Toyota Corolla range, which will see every model fit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Though the integrated mobile phone connectivity standard has been available on overseas models since launch, Australia was delayed in adopting CarPlay and Auto. Well, it’s finally here.

All models will benefit from the updated infotainment technology that brings a slight price bump. And in addition, mid-range SX and top-spec ZR variants also gain better safety technology, with 2020 model year vehicles fitted with low-speed autonomous emergency braking that works at speeds up to 15km/h, along with reverse cross-traffic AEB.

Top-shelf ZR models also receive eight-way electric seat adjustment and optional two-tone colour paint.

“When Toyota launched the all-new Corolla hatch last year, our customers appreciated the high level of safety and features in the car but technology is always evolving and Toyota is keen to offer customers more options to further improve the vehicles they drive, whether from a safety, comfort or style perspective,” said Toyota VP sales and marketing Sean Hanley.

However, the additions see pricing for the 2020 Toyota Corolla range rise. Entry-level Ascent Sport is now $465 more expensive, mid-grade SX goes up by $1365, and top-spec ZR is $1765 dearer.

The MY2020 Toyota Corolla hatch range goes on sale November 1.

2020 Toyota Corolla hatch pricing:

Ascent Sport – $23,335 (man) $24,835 (auto)

Ascent Sport Hybrid – $26,335

SX – $28,235

SX Hybrid – $29,735

ZR – $32,135

ZR Hybrid – $33,635
