The 2017 Honda Civic Hatch has been officially revealed ahead of the its arrival in Australia early next year.

THE 2017 HONDA CIVIC HATCH has been revealed ahead of its launch in Australia early next year. The new Civic Hatch will join the Civic sedan locally, before the all-new Civic Type R arrives in 2017.

The Civic Hatch is built on the same platform as the sedan and will run the same engine options, which include both naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines. We can expect the ride and handling to be very close to the sedan and the interior room, too. Honda hasn’t said what the boot space for the hatch will be, but it did say it would run Honda’s full suite of active safety features.

“Like the Civic sedan, the Honda Civic Hatch, will be a very important car in the Honda line-up in Australia,” Honda Australia Director, Stephen Collins said. “In the small car segment in Australia, hatches reign so we expect the Honda Civic Hatch to be a relevant option for Honda customers looking for the versatility of a hatch but with the proven quality, style and performance of a Honda.”

Honda said it would confirm pricing and the final specification list closer to the local launch.

  1. I’m looking for info about leg and head room. I had to skip the 2016 lineup because my legs are up against the dash and head hits the ceiling. You should not have to install special custom seat rails and tilt the seat way back just to fit into a new car. I’m only 6’2″. It’s ridiculous.
