The first shipment of Great Wall Steeds has arrived in Australia ahead of the model’s launch in September.

PRICING FOR THE NEW 2016 Great Wall Steed still hasn’t been announced, but Great Wall, which is preparing for a relaunch in Australia has received the first shipment of vehicles ahead of their September launch. Practical Motoring will be attending the launch in early September, so, stay tuned for our first impressions.

“We will launch with a three model line-up boasting a rugged new design, high levels of safety, one-tonne payload and very attractive price points for Australian customers, said Great Wall Motors Australia Managing Director Parker Shi.

“The line-up will include three dual cab versions – a 4×4 diesel, 4×2 diesel and 4×2 petrol – with ESP and six airbags standard on all three models.

“They will all come with a long list of creature comforts, including cruise control, Bluetooth, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning and heated front seats.”

Great Wall Motors took back control of its Australian operations in July from long-time distributor, Ateco. When the company announced the decision, it committed to wooing dealers and in a short statement the brand said there were 50 dealers on the books offering Australia wide coverage.

“The dealers have been impressed by the new Steed and our commitment to customers,” Shi said.

“We are determined to offer new levels of customer service. We have already been overwhelmed by the positive response from many of the existing customers to the new Great Wall Australia organisation.”
