Vaughan Gittin Jr to unveil 2015 Ford Mustang RTR at SEMA show in Las Vegas (November 3) – will detail Spec 1 and Spec 2 packages.

WORLD CHAMPION drifter and Mustang enthusiast, Vaughan Gittin Jr is set to unveil the details of his Spec 1 and Spec 2 packages for the 2015 Ford Mustang at the SEMA show tomorrow (3 November). Gittin Jr has said both packages will be available through selected Ford dealers (they’re a dealer fit cost option) in the US from January 2015.

However, with the 2015 Ford Mustang now a global car there’s a chance it’ll be available beyond the US, but Ford Australia has previously told Practical Motoring that any aftermarket parts not supplied through Ford dealerships would void the vehicle’s new car warranty. With these kits available only through Ford dealers in America, will that make a difference?

“Ford’s Mustang team has done an incredible job with the new 2015 Ford Mstang,” said Gittin Jr in a statement. The RTR team (Ready to Rock) and I are pumped to work with such an incredible platform for RTR builds. Without a question, the performance and overall presence of the new Mustang RTR will impress and keep a smile on our customers’ faces whether cruising the streets or getting crazy on the track.”

While we’ll have to wait another 24 hours for the full reveal, we know from past RTR packages that Spec 1 is likely to apply to the EcoBoost-powered Mustang and Spec 2 to the V8. Most RTR kits include exhaust, suspension, tyres and brake upgrades, beyond that there are also cosmetic enhancements via front and rear spoilers, floor mats, bespoke gearshifts, and more.
