BMW has announced pricing for its 2015 BMW 2 Series Convertible which goes on-sale next month (February) from $54,900 (+ORC).

BMW’S 2 SERIES Convertible will arrive in Australia in three variants, the 220i Convertible, from $54,900 (+ORC); the 228i Convertible, from $68,900 (+ORC), and the range-topping M235i Convertible, from $85,800 (+ORC).

The BMW 220i and 228i Convertibles get, as standard, an eight-speed sport automatic transmission, Driving Experience Control, Rear View Camera, Park Distance Control, light alloy wheels and cruise control with braking function, and more. While the M235i Convertible will get, among other things, Adaptive M Suspension.

According to BMW, the 2 Series Convertible is 20% more torsionally rigid than the 1 Series Convertible with a 10% improvement to its bending resistance. The soft-top roof can be opened or closed in 20 seconds – soundproofing has been improved, BMW says, through the incorporation of additional insulation which allegedly cuts interior noise by 5 dB(A) in the front seats and 7 dB(A) in the rear.

The 220i and 228i Convertibles get a four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine producing 135kW (from 5000-6250rpm) and 270Nm (from 1250-4500rpm) and 180kW (from 5000-6250rpm) and 350Nm (from 1250-4800rpm), respectively. The M235i Convertible gets a 240kW six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that’ll get the drop-top to 100km/h in just 5.0 seconds.
