Honda has revealed its new-look CR-V ahead of its official reveal at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
HONDA’S NEW-LOOK CR-V SUV will get, in addition to its facelift, a tweaked diesel engine offering more grunt (350Nm) and a cost-optional nine-speed automatic transmission (a six-speed auto is standard). As the images show, the CR-V gets new headlights, front grille, fog lights, skid-plate and bumper; while around at the back, new LED tail-lights, a refreshed tailgate design and bumper round out the cosmetic surgery.
The all-wheel drive Honda CR-V will be equipped with the higher-powered 1.6-litre i-DTEC four-cylinder diesel engine. This next-generation powertrain delivers outstanding performance and low CO2 emissions, with one of the best power-to-efficiency ratios on the market. This new engine replaces the previous 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel in the CR-V. The 2WD diesel CR-V, available with a manual transmission, will continue to be equipped with the 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel engine.
The new Honda CR-V will be built at Honda’s factory in Swindon UK and has been “developed and engineered for European drivers”.
