Suggestions Suzuki Grand Vitara will be dropped are false…
Suggestions the Suzuki Grand Vitara would be dropped at the end of the year have been slammed by Suzuki Australia.
THE INTERNET WAS BUZZING yesterday with the news that Suzuki was set to drop the Grand Vitara from its line-up in the UK leading to speculation that Suzuki Australia would follow suit.
However, the report, published by UK motoring magazine Auto Express yesterday (and has since been taken down) has been condemned by Suzuki Australia PR boss, Andrew Ellis, who told Practical Motoring the new Vitara, which will get its full reveal at the Paris Motor Show next month would continue to be sold alongside the Grand Vitara.
“Not sure how this story is gaining such traction,” Ellis told Practical Motoring. “Vitara – which will be unveiled at Paris – is a different car to Grand Vitara. Both will be sold alongside each other.”
Elsewhere in the Auto Express article it suggested the Alto was being dropped from the Suzuki line-up. And that is true, but it’s not as sinister as the now missing article suggested, with Ellis telling Practical Motoring: “Alto is being replaced by the Celerio, which is the new Suzuki sub-light car”.
