The all-new 2018 Holden Commodore will go on-sale in late February 2018 from $35,990 driveaway and tops out at $53,990+ORC for the Calais-V Tourer V6 AWD.

THE 2018 HOLDEN COMMODORE which Practical Motoring has already tested in Opel Insignia form will go on-sale here from late February 2018. Pricing kicks off from $33,690+ORC for the entry-level 2.0L LT or $35,990 drive-away.

“The next-generation Commodore is a stunning vehicle that’s already getting rave reviews in Europe in Opel Insignia guise,” said Holden’s Executive Director – Marketing, Mark Harland.

“It looks sleek and sporty on the outside, while inside it’s refined and sophisticated with intelligent use of premium materials and a long list of user-friendly high-tech features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and wireless phone charging.

“As well as being able to access the range from just $35,990 on-the-road, customers are given peace of mind to test the car in their own time and see how well it fits in their daily lives with our Take Your Time test Drive,” Harland said.

Holden is keen to play up the work it’s done on the new Commodore and particularly the V6 variants which all get all-wheel drive as standard. Holden said its engineers had run up more than 150,000km in testing to give the Commodore a unique suspension and steering tune to its European cousins.

  1. Race enthusiasts have given loyal support to Holden going back to the era before the HK Monaro GTS 327. That support has continued through the Torana and Australian Commodore era. The “win on Sunday Sell on Monday eras”! I don’t think that V8 Supercars helped that because track cars are so different to street cars.
Now let’s see if there’s a HSV Opelfwdodore. If HSV doesn’t make a HSV version of the ZB, can Holden really expect loyal enthusiasts to take an interest in the car?
In my opinion, it was not the best idea to move away from the RWD V8 format at the same time as ceasing Oz production. It’s a shame that the Oz RWD Commodore V8 could not have remained in production until the RHD Camaro was ready for release in Oz. It’s great to see that HSV looks like converting the Camaro to RHD but it would be nice to have a factory RHD car that is in the Mustang $ ballpark.
Looks like interesting times for Commodore. How long will the ZB be with us?
