The all-new 2016 Kia Sportage has been revealed in full in leaked images ahead of its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

KIA’S ALL-NEW 2016 Kia Sportage medium SUV has been revealed in a series of leaked images by the Korean Car Blog. The images are clearly official press images intended to be revealed in the build-up to the SUV’s debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. They follow some car-park spy shots revealing the Sportage last week.

The twin-under-the-skin to the Hyundai Tucson which will likely benefit from local suspension tuning when it arrives in Australia next year has taken heavy design inspiration from the KX-3 concept that was shown in China last year. Read our review of the 2016 Kia Sportage.

The new Sportage boasts a tweaked version of Kia’s trademark Tiger Nose front-end design with the grille now more prominent than it is on the current car. The headlights are sleek and sweptback in design while the windscreen looks to be more steeply raked, with the ice cube driving lights at the front.

The spy shot revealing the interior clearly follows the direction of the design sketches we’ve seen. In terms of the rest of the vehicle’s practicality we’ll just have to wait and see. Although it’s likely the new Sportage will benefit from liberal use of high-strength lightweight steel which will allow the cabin space to be made bigger.
