Thanks goodness its Friday. Here’s our five videos on Friday to help relax you into the weekend. Caution: If you’re trying to hit a 5pm deadline, do not hit play.

1. 25 Years of the Land Rover Discovery – Vintage TopGear

Back in the 1990s BBC’s TopGear was less about ‘Powwaaarrr’ and a loud-mouthed Jeremey Clarkson and more like, well, more like Fifth Gear (the program first aired in 1977)… Indeed, Fifth Gear’s Tiff Needell was a presenter on the show and we’ve found a clip of him driving the original Land Rover Discovery from 1998. Why this one? Well, this is the 25th anniversary of the Discovery. Enjoy.

2. That’s not how you drive a Lada…

Sticking with the four-wheel drive theme we’ve dug up this gem. It’s a Swedish Ad for the Lada Niva, Chevrolet now builds the Niva and will, later this month, reveal the 2016 Chevrolet Lada at the Moscow Motor Show. The Ad, though, it’s a cracker… the owner gets pushed out of his seat by, well, just watch…

3. When eras collide: 1959 meets 2009

This video from 2010 shows a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu being crashed into a 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air to prove just how safe cars have become. Conducted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the formation of the US auto insurers institute in 1959, then Institute president Adrian Lund said: “It was night and day, the difference in occupant protection … What this test shows is that automakers don’t build cars like they used to. They build them better.” Classic car owners look away now.

4. Ken Block’s Gymkhana 6 … smoke and burnt rubber

Okay, this one might be a little bit of a cliche. Even if you’re not into cars, and you can’t stand DC shoes, you can appreciate Ken Block’s skill behind the wheel. This is his latest Gymkhana, number six – a series that have become some of the most viral auto videos on the ‘Net. That means you’ve probably already seen it, right? Maybe. But we’ve included because of the video after this one… Watch this one first and then watch the next one.

5. Ken Block’s Gymkhana 6 … in miniature

Okay, so you’ve probably just watched the ‘actual’ Gymkhana 6 with Ken Block pedalling his 2013 Ford Fiesta ST. Well, sit back and watch this RC version. You’ve got to watch it, and if you’re into RC cars the bloke who made the film says the car was virtually stock except for 80wt oil in the shocks, firmer tire inserts and a custom painted Ford Fiesta Rally Body.

If you’ve seen any videos you think we should list let us know in the comments below or on our Facebook page (/PracticalMotoring).
