The updated 2019 Volkswagen Golf will see formerly special-edition features made standard with the three-door and manual transmission dropped going forward.

Volkswagen Australia has announced the Golf GTI Original will arrive here early in 2018 priced at less than $40,000.

The 2018 Volkswagen Golf R Wagon will arrive here permanently in January 2018 priced from $57,490+ORC, but there’s a limited-run arriving this year.

The refreshed Volkswagen Golf 7.5 sees the return of the Golf R wagon to the range, with prices for the entry-level Golf from $23,990+ORC.

VW Australia will offer just 150 three-door Golf GTI Performance Edition 1 variants when it goes on-sale in August.

Volkswagen has turned the virtual into reality, presenting the GTI Roadster concept at the Woerthersee GTI meeting in Austria (18-31 May).

Rather than try and compete with the Volkswagen Golf GTI, the Skoda Octavia RS gets most of that cars best bits, is only a smidgen slower than it, is a lot cheaper, and offers a lot more room for a family.
