The Volkswagen T-Roc has been teased via an official design sketch ahead of its official reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

VOLKSWAGEN IS GETTING closer to the full reveal of its compact SUV, the T-Roc, and has teased an official design sketch on social media overnight. It will be revealed next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The VW T-Roc will slot into the line-up below the Tiguan and Golf and is intended to service those buyers looking at a more practical vehicle with a high-isa ride height but without the full-size of a larger SUV. The T-Roc sketch looks to follow the concept revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, although drawing too much from a sketch can be fraught with danger.

That said, it looks as if the production version of the T-Roc will get a full-length grille and possibly LED lights too, as well as squared-off wheel arches to give it a boxy but strong stance. The T-Roc will sit on the same version of the VW Group’s MQB platform that forms the base of the Audi Q2. It’s expected the T-Roc will offer both petrol and diesel engines as well as two-wheel drive and 4Motion models.

Question: The T-Roc will go up against vehicles like the Subaru XV, Hyundai Kona, Mazda CX-3, and Nissan Qashqai… would you buy it over more established players in this segment?
