Land Rover has teased its latest variant, a two-door Range Rover SV Coupe to be revealed in full at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

LAND ROVER has teased an overhead interior shot of its new two-door (three-doors if you include the tailgate) Range Rover SV Coupe which it says, “will be a dramatic and desirable addition to the Range Rover portfolio, featuring a seductive body design and a supremely refined interior”. Perhaps, but what Land Rover didn’t say was that with only two doors it’ll be a pain in the backside to climb into the back seats.

The UK car maker is celebrating its 70th anniversary and got its year off to a bang by announcing a limited-run V8 Defender, and now this with the brand saying it harks back to the original two-door Rangie from the 1970s.

Chief crayon twirler, Gerry McGovern says, “The Range Rover SV Coupé is a highly compelling design with peerless refinement and uncompromised sophistication from its breathtaking exterior proportions to its sumptuous, beautifully appointed, interior. This is a vehicle that will resonate on an emotional level.”

No pricing or indeed any other details have been announced but you can expect this thing to be very exclusive and expensive if it comes to Australia, likely costing much more than $250,000. See, the Range Rover SV Coupe will be “hand-assembled” at the the SV Technical Centre in the UK, and production will be limited to no more than 999 vehicles for worldwide distribution. When it does launch, the RR SV Coupe will become the world’s only two-door luxury SUV… rappers and footballers get ready to splash your cash.
