Subaru has updated the Forester for 2020 and the headline for many will be the inclusion of heated seats.
AS READERS MENTIONED when we picked up our long-term Subaru Forester 2.5i-S review car last month, the top-spec Forester variant did not come with heated seats. Well, now every grade except the entry-point has heated pews up front.
The changes for 2020 also see a slight price hike, the base 2.5i $50 more expensive at $34,690 plus on-road costs but now equipped with a rear LED in the licence plate holder and an upgraded tyre pressure monitoring system. There’s also a rear seatbelt warning in the driver display and a new paint colour, Magnetite Grey Metallic, which replaces Dark Grey Metallic.
Perhaps most interesting is that all models benefit from an upgraded R167 rear diff that the 2020 WRX also receives.
Moving up model grades, the 2.5i-L, 2.5i Premium and 2.5i-S variants jump $250 to $36,940, $39,940 and $42,990 respectively. For that, the models now have heated seats and wiper de-icers. The heated seats have also improved over the previous-generation Forester, with heating elements extending higher up the backrest than before.
All models come equipped with the same 2.5-litre petrol engine mated to a CVT transmission and all-wheel drive system, and the next major addition for the Subaru Forester will be the hybrid e-Boxer which arrives early next year.
