The Internet has struck again with a leaked image of the Renault Alaskan ute making its way onto the web overnight.

THE RENAULT ALASKAN will officially be revealed on June 30 in Columbia with interested readers able to follow the reveal by following this link. However, the internet has managed to one-up the anticipated reveal, with a front-on photo of the new Alaskan leaking online overnight.

The single image seems to show the Alaskan on a production line, suggesting it could be rolled out very soon indeed. For clarification, the Renault Alaskan is based on the Nissan NP300 Navara, so the thing has reasonable bones to start with. Just what Renault will do with it, though, remains to be seen.

It’s worth mentioning that Mercedes-Benz is also using the NP300 Navara as its base for its upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLT dual cab ute.

Renault is still keeping details close to its chest until the Thursday reveal, but we can imagine it’ll be available in both 4×4 and 4×4 set-up and should offer a payload of around 1000kg, depending on the variant. It should also be available, like said Navara, in a variety of body styles.

So, this all begs the question, if Renault offers a decent warranty on the Alaskan and manages to undercut the Navara, would you buy one?
