The 2017 Volkswagen Amarok has been teased overnight with VW releasing several design sketches of the its refreshed dual-cab ute which is due here by the end of the year.

WHILE SPY SHOTS of the refreshed 2017 Volkswagen Amarok hit the internet last week showing that, on the outside at least, there’ll be very few changes, VW has released several design sketches. The release accompanying the images was very short on detail.

“Like previous iterations, the latest Amarok will combine passenger car-like on-road manners with full off-road capability.  A more athletic front and a modified instrument panel emphasise the powerful Amarok look and give the vehicle a more premium feel. With a length of 5.25 metres and a width of 2.23 metres (mirrors included), the Amarok fulfils all that is expected of a classic pick-up in both style and concept,” Volkswagen said.

Beyond this details are still thin on the ground. Amarok is expected to retain its current engine and transmission line-up and body configurations. It’s unlikely to get extra ground clearance over the current model in 4MOTION guise which is 192mm. The inside is likely to feature the latest VW infotainment and communication system and is likely to be where the most significant changes have taken place. Stay tuned.
